EXILE’s Rising Up In the Rising Sun

So, EXILE. They weren’t really on my radar screen until today, when I discovered that they have a hit new single title (Rising Sun/いつかきっと…Rising Sun / Surely Someday)! I wikipedia’d them up and this is what I learned…

Exile (Stylized as EXILE) is a 14-member all-male Japanese dance group. The leader of the group is Hiro, who debuted as a member of Zoo under For Life Music, but Exile has released their singles and albums under Avex Group’s label Rhythm Zone. Hiro and Avex’s president Max Matsuura came from the same high school.

In total, they have sold over 17 million records in Japan alone.

But on to their new single I checked out…

Rising Sun

“Rising Sun” is the first track on their new single, so I figured I check out at Jpopasia.com, and I actually really LOVED it. It took me a bit to get to the good part in “Rising Sun”, but once it starts going, it’s pretty epic. Just the amount of people involved is AMAZING, and it’s an upbeat song with a soft beat to it.

Itsuka Kitto…

“いつかきっと…” is the second track on this single. And normally, I don’t like the second track on J-Pop singles (the first track tends to be the current popular song), but I found myself truly loving this track as well. It’s a beautifully arranged ballad song, with lots of “crooning” (for lack of a better word ;)) so make sure to check it out as well, k? ^-^
